Happy Valentines Day! Are you ready for this?

Happy Valentines Day, everyone!

Or as I often jokingly call it, Singles Awareness Day (S.A.D.). Nothing to be sad about though!

I'm still single. However, there is one particular person I'm interested in. I'm not mentioning her name here at the moment.

Figuring out if a woman likes me is still rather difficult for me. There's this one who I met recently who is just a bit more friendly towards me than most others are. That's the only hint I have, if that's even a hint. It could all just be in my head. She's not even the type of person I think would be interested in me, but the holy spirit has been telling me that I will be pleasantly surprised to find out she actually likes me when I meet her. And if this person isn't the one, that only means there's someone better for me.

At the same time, am I even really ready to date anyone? Of course not, I need to clean out my truck first! Seriously though, if I don't feel ready now, will I ever feel ready? I didn't feel like I was ready to come to Redding, CA, but God told me to anyway. Will I feel ready when God has me meet that right woman? There's been a lot of stuff I haven't felt ready for that I'm going through lately.

One thing that I'm not used to here in Redding at Bethel Church is the culture here. It's a great culture! But one thing I find a bit scary (but maybe it's good) is how these relationships are handled. Pretty much, if you know someone is right for you, you get engaged and get married quickly. Some people actually skip the dating processes. A friend of mine just asked a girl to marry him a few weeks ago, and he didn't even date her, and they're getting married at the end of this month. Both families are supportive of it.

I'm used to couples being engaged for a couple of years, and maybe dating at least a year (often times longer) before that. But around here, the couples I know aren't engaged for nearly that long.

9 years ago today, I guess I didn't feel ready for an experience that totally rocked my life, the baptism with the holy spirit (different from the indwelling of the holy spirit that you have when you're saved), the fresh filling of the holy spirit that empowers you to walk in the supernatural. Yes, I did receive it on Valentines Day!

Do you feel ready for stuff going on in your life? Does it even matter what you feel? Maybe you are ready and you just didn't know it. And maybe the only reason that makes you ready for those things is God making you ready.
