Yeah, that place just closed down. Why, you ask? I've got the answer.
Because you gave lip service and said you would support the place, but you didn't. You weren't as interested and as committed as you said you would be. You said you'd be there, and you weren't.
I am writing this, not because there is a specific ministry that recently shut down, but because I have been involved with ministries that have shut down in the past. There was a lack of commitment. Commitment is important. If you say you're going to do something, do it. I helped out with christian music venues back at home, and I'm currently helping with a house of prayer here in Redding. Peoples' lack of commitment and support really kill these places. And when you say you're going to give time, finances, or other support but don't follow through, it says that you don't really support it. As Christians, we should let our yes be yes and our no be no. Yet I've noticed we've been some of the worst people at doing this. There are non-believers that are more committed to going to the bar every weekend and getting drunk than so many of us are to help out with the ministries we said we'd help out with. Actually, some believers are probably going to the bar too.
I don't want to get into a works-oriented mindset here. That's not what this is about. This is about commitment and about being a person of your word (and more importantly, a person of the Word). When you say you're going to do something, do it.
