Lately, on Facebook, I've been reconnecting with people from the church I grew up in, particularly on Facebook. It was a Baptist church, and I love the baptist churches out there.
But as many of you know, I have more of a pentecostal/charismatic theology. How did I go through this change?
I believe God still works supernaturally today. My youth pastor at the baptist church I grew up in taught on personal relationship with God. Well, unlike some people, I actually believed him, and I had a personal relationship with God. I'm not saying those who don't believe in God doing supernatural signs and wonders today don't have a personal relationship with God. But that's just where my personal relationship with God has taken me.
And I have this blog set up to be read on my Facebook account. I might as well be honest with those from the church I grew up in. I can't hide it. I'm a very different person from who I was ten years ago. I still love Jesus, and I love Jesus more than I did 10 years ago. But there's some things that you're probably not going to agree with me on. I'm not going to be offended if you disagree, and I hope you're not offended when I post something you don't agree with. However, I know it's going to offend some people anyway.
I do want to encourage some of you, however, to take a deeper look into the supernatural gifts of the holy spirit. I think if you take an honest look at the scripture, they're still active and supposed to be very much active in the church today. Healing is supposed to be the norm in the church today. Prophecy (and not the kind that adds to scripture, they shouldn't be added to or taken away from) is supposed to be active, not just in seeing prophetic words from the Bible being fulfilled but people actually prophesying even in these days. God still gives people revelation. This revelation is already in the Bible, but it's hidden from many and those who truly seek His face will get the revelation.
So, I very much believe in signs, wonders, miracles, and other supernatural experiences. So this might freak out some of my friends. Some of you are probably thinking I'm believing false doctrine or something, but I don't really care what you think. I care about what God thinks. Some of my friends, however, are going to hear God speaking through this to them, and go into the deeper things of God.
There's more I want to type on this, and I will, but I've got to get back to cleaning my room here. So everyone, be blessed!
