This weekend, so far...

So far I've had a fantastic weekend.

Friday night at church, I made a lot of friends.  One of them reminds me of a friend of mine from back home actually.  I'm feeling so much more at home.

I went hiking with some of my new friends Saturday.  It was only a 3.1 mile hike, but it seemed like doing 10 miles at Umstead Park back home in Raleigh.  Hiking in California's mountains is a very different experience from hiking trails in the Triangle area of North Carolina, simply because this is a mountainous area I'm hiking at now.  I'm sure the fact that I'm out of shape compared to 10 years ago when I was hiking around Umstead and a lot of other places when I was in Boy Scouts makes a difference too.  But I'm getting back in shape.  I'll be a little more prepared for the next hike, whenever they decide to go hiking again.

I slept most of the afternoon on Saturday when I got back home.  I had originally planned to work on music a little bit, but it just wasn't happening.

I'm going to post some of my latest thoughts on dating soon.  I don't talk about that too often, but I am bringing it up soon.  No, I'm not dating anyone right now.  There are a few girls I might be interested in asking on a date, but I'm not quite ready at the moment and I've always had a tendency not to ask girls unless I already had some kind of obvious clue that they were interested in me, and I'm sure there are plenty of girls that don't make it obvious they might be interested in a guy.

By the way, I am much more like my old self now.  I'm finally getting a bit more sociable and talking to people, and making friends a lot easier than I had been.

Tonight, I've got church and then In-N-Out Burger!
